Marlon A. Onias is a Veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, and former police detective. Originally from New York City Mr. Onias joined the U.S. Coast Guard as a symbol of servant hood, giving back to his country. While serving he obtained his Bachelors in Criminology from Saint Leo University. Upon his completion of service he joined the Newport News Police Department where he worked diligently, and vigorously to combat crime in the City’s lower east end. As a police officer, he became one of the youngest detectives on the department before moving on to attend Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University College of Law.
Also in law school Mr. Onias took part in the FAMU College of Law/Orange County Legal Aide Guardian ad Litem (G.A.L.) Program, where he was appointed by the Ninth Judicial Circuit as a G.A.L. As a G.A.L. he over saw numerous dependency cases interacted and encouraged dependent youth, and played a vital role in adoptions.
Upon graduation from law school Mr. Onias attended University of Pennsylvania where he studied and obtained a certificate in Health Policy and the Patient Protection Affordable Care Act.
Mr. Onias has served as Orange County Schools Student Advocate and Policy Writer. As a Student Advocate for 170,000 students he assured that students rights where fully protected. As Policy Writer Mr. Onias helped draft a new Attendance Policy and Procedures manual based on current laws.
As a Foreclosure Attorney with Albertelli Law he worked on behalf of creditors to reclaim client’s distressed assets, helping to maintain the firm’s strong relationship with institutional lenders.
The time Mr. Onias has spent in each field has allowed him to become a well rounded attorney who is firm yet compassionate, and understands his clients need for a peace of mind, and for a favorable resolution of the issue at hand.
